Quality and inspection checks on purchased parts

All parts received by the organisation undergo a thorough inspection via internal testing and quality checks, ensuring that we can consistently guarantee our customers the required quality. Parts are only added to the inventory and stock following formal approval.

1. Preparation and reference determination
For each part, the technical specifications are first looked up in the manufacturer’s digital parts catalogue. Based on this, a correct item reference is determined. If necessary, this reference is converted to an internal reference or a standardised market reference, ensuring unambiguous and correct identification of the part. Depending on the situation, a trial order is then placed for various available references to enable an optimal comparison and evaluation.

2. Check 1 – Receipt and quality control
Upon receipt of the ordered components, an initial quality control check is carried out. During this process, the components are compared against one another in terms of, amongst other things:

  • visual conformity,
  • dimensions,
  • design,
  • finish and materials used.

Based on this, a formal quality control check is carried out, resulting in a quality report in which all findings are documented.

  • If the part meets the specified quality criteria, the report is considered ‘approved’.
  • If not, the part is rejected and excluded from further processing.

Approved quality reports are catalogued and stored in the Document Management System (DMS) for traceability and audit purposes.

3. Check 2 – Test inspection
Following a successful quality check, the test inspection takes place. The component is fitted to a vehicle in our own workshop. Depending on the type of component, one or more of the following tests are carried out:

  • diagnostic check,
  • test bench test,
  • test drive or functional test.

If the component does not pass the test, it is rejected. If the evaluation is positive, a follow-up report is drawn up in which the test results are recorded.
These reports are also catalogued and stored in the DMS.

4. Release and inclusion in inventory
Following the successful completion of both the quality and test checks:

  • the item reference is definitively approved;
  • a link is established with the relevant supplier and technical reference;
  • the component is released for inclusion in the inventory and stock.

Only components that have undergone this entire procedure and have been explicitly released are eligible for sale or use in our own workshop.
