A curtainsider is more flexible than an ordinary closed trailer with fixed hard sides. On the other hand, it offers more protection against the weather or theft than an open body trailer. A curtainsider is a trailer on which a tarpaulin is pulled over an aluminium construction so that the load is still covered. By partially loosening the curtains, loading and unloading can easily take place from the sides or the rear. This process can even be simplified by using a tailboard and possibly a forklift or crane.
