A truck with a swap system enables you to easily connect different cargo bodies to the chassis. This saves a lot of time and money during loading and unloading. The cargo box gets exchanged in its whole, without having to transfer the goods separately. Similar to container transport it facilitates the transfer of the loading body between different means of transport, such as a ship or a train. The main difference lies in the dimensions of the cargo boxes: swap systems can also transport loading bodies that differ in size from sea containers.

Different types of swap bodies for trucks

Swap bodies come in many types and dimensions. In general we can distinguish three categories:

• Classic swap body: very similar to a standard container, but usually made of much lighter material. Even versions with tarpaulins on the top or sides may occur.
• A-Behalter: truck body that exceeds a length of 12 metres.
• C-Behalter: truck body less than 12 metres in length, but longer or wider than a standard 20ft sea container (about 6.10 metres).
