Second-hand tanker semi-trailer
Transport of liquids and gas with a tanker semi-trailer
Tankers are specifically developed for transporting large quantities of liquid or gas. They have a horizontally positioned cylindrical tank and can vary significantly in size. They can be equipped for one load or more and some of them are thermally insulated. Usually a tank truck consists of a tractor unit and a semi-trailer, but trucks with a fixed tank are used widely as well. Braem has various second-hand options available, in order for you to choose the vehicle that best suits your needs.
Different types of tanker semi-trailers
Depending on the type of liquid or gas that is being transported, there are big differences between tankers as well. We can distinguish the following categories:
- Tankers for foodstuffs: Tankers are used, among other things, for transporting foodstuffs such as milk. Naturally, for this kind of transport high requirements are in order regarding hygiene and food safety.
- Water tankers: Water is not only transported as drinking water. Fire trucks and water tanks used for all kinds of cleaning purposes are types of water tankers as well.
- Gas tankers: Gas is also transported in tankers, although it is kept liquid for transport in special pressure tanks.
- Tankers for fuels: Tankers intended for the transport of petrol or diesel are usually equipped with bottom loading and a vapour extraction system. Since in this case the load can be dangerous or harmful to the environment, both the drivers and the tankers must comply with high European safety requirements for the transport of dangerous goods by road.
If you buy at Braem you are certain that your second-hand tanker semi-trailer always complies with the European standards of (food) safety.
