Second-hand tow truck

Breakdown truck, tow truck or recovery vehicle

A tow truck or recovery vehicle is used to tow away vehicles that are no longer able to move themselves. This is, for example, the case after a breakdown or accident. But recovery vehicles are sometimes used to tow illegally parked vehicles as well.

Different types of tow trucks from premium brands

Recovery or tow vehicles fall into three categories. First, we have the crane truck, which has an extendable crane arm to which a hook is attached. This hook is used to lift the vehicle and place it on the truck. Secondly, we have a ramp truck or rollback truck. Here a winch is used to pull the broken or abandoned vehicle onto the cargo bed. Driving up the ramp is often made easier by the fact that the ramp floor can be hydraulically extended. Thirdly, we have a skip truck that lifts the front or rear wheels of the vehicle to be towed off the ground using a hydraulic mechanism. That way the vehicle hangs behind the breakdown truck during movement.

Because of the multifunctional nature of recovery vehicles, a combination of the various types is often used in practice. Braem's range includes many second-hand tow trucks of premium brands. We have MAN, Iveco, Scania, DAF, Volvo Mercedes or Renault trucks available at advantageous prices to make your project a success.
