Second-hand trailers

Truck trailers

A trailer is a vehicle that is connected to the back of a traction motor vehicle by means of a tow bar. Trailers carrying more than 3500 kg must be towed by a lorry. Unlike a semi-trailer, a trailer has its own front axle and can therefore remain stable, even when uncoupled. Furthermore, the maximum permitted length of a vehicle with a trailer is longer than that of a tractor with a semi-trailer. Even the loading capacity is higher due to the fact that the front and rear axles are far apart. However, because of the two pivot points it is more difficult for the driver to drive in reverse. Several trailers for different purposes can be coupled to one and the same tractor unit, which is not the case for trucks with a fixed loading platform.
