Second-hand semi-trailer
Various semi-trailers for each tractor
A semi-trailer is a type of trailer that does not have its own front axle. Because of that, a large part of its weight rests on the towing vehicle (or tractor). When uncoupled, the semi-trailer is supported at the front by two hydraulic or manually operated stands. Semi-trailers are undoubtedly a flexible alternative to trucks due to their price and interchangeability.
Types of second-hand semi-trailers at Braem
Depending on the load that has to be carried, you better choose the kind of semi-trailer that best suits the required transport. At Braem you can find different types of second-hand semi-trailers:
- With a concrete mixer, you easily deliver a concrete mixture to the site. Since the concrete is ready to use immediately, it allows you to save time and space at the construction site itself.
- A dry bulk semi-trailer is the most suitable option for transporting large quantities of bulk goods.
- A low loader or ‘lowboy’ makes it possible to transport high indivisible goods such as construction machinery without encountering problems with traffic regulations (max. height) or lower passages.
- An open body semi-trailer simplifies the loading of goods that are difficult to divide and are not affected by weather conditions.
- With a tipper semi-trailer, the loading space is tilted at an angle allowing the cargo to be unloaded smoothly from the rear.
- A tanker is the most appropriate semi-trailer for transporting liquids and gases. Given the nature of the cargo, its transport is usually accompanied by strict (food) safety regulations.
- A refrigerated semi-trailer keeps the cargo at the perfect temperature in order to preserve the value of the goods during transport and to prevent decay.
- A closed cargo box - with or without curtain sliders for easy loading and unloading from the sides - optimally protects divisible loose goods from wind and water.
- A swap body exchange system allows you to easily and quickly transfer the cargo box itself between different means of transport.
- Timber transport semi-trailers are developed specifically for the safe and easy transport of long tree trunks, beams or planks.
- Container transport involves fixed-size containers that do not need to be loaded or unloaded. Instead they can be transferred directly from a ship or train to the truck.
